Talk about Having the Saddle pulled out from under me

So my instructor Melissa texts me this morning that the western saddle I have been using,  is now on its way to another farm. The owner decided to let someone else use it. I was not happy because it is the only western saddle that Melissa had available. So I made a phone call to Equestrian Outfitters in Somers Ct. and asked them what they had under $500.00 . Boy did I luck out. They happened to have 2 available. One in a 16.5 and a 17.5 inch.  So Melissa and I took a 45 min ride to go look. The 17.5 was bit too big for me and $550.00. The 16.5 was perfect and in perfect condition. Still had original tags on it. So we liked it and we asked how much. $495.00 the girl says. hmmm.... I asked if she thought the owner would go lower, so she called. I bought a brand spanking new western saddle for $450.00. Mike is still trying to figure out how I am getting these deals. Btw, my dressage saddle went with me to be put on consignment. The girls at the shop loved it and put it up for $400.00. Hopefully that will sell soon. In the mean time I had to use my horse fund money in order to buy the saddle to be able to continue lessons. I will make the money up later when I can but at least I can regain my confidence for when I do buy my horse. This is the saddle I bought...

I also bought anew saddle pad and girth.

  2. Hey, you gotta start somewhere and if you need to go about this a little bit backwards then it's still all good! Like Mike said, you'll there and your dream will eventually become a reality. And when it does, you'll be sitting pretty!
